If you have ever looked across your hood on a sunny day and seen a spiderweb of fine scratches, those are swirl marks. They are not dirt, and no amount of washing removes them. They are thousands of tiny scratches in the clear coat, most of them left by automatic brush car washes, dirty wash mitts, and drying towels.
Wax and sealants do not remove swirls. They fill them temporarily, which is why a car can look great leaving a shop and dull again a month later. Paint correction is different: a machine polisher and a series of abrasives level the clear coat so the defect is actually gone. The gloss that comes back is the real gloss of your paint, not a layer of filler.
The quickest way to judge your own paint costs nothing. Park in direct sun and look across the panel at an angle instead of straight down. A spiderweb pattern that moves as you move is swirls. Both packages include the full prep: wheels, tires, and fenders cleaned, a thorough hand wash, bug and iron decontamination, glass cleaned, and plastics taped off. The difference is how far we take the polishing.
1-Step Paint Correction

Best for: dark colors, show vehicles, heavily neglected paint, and anyone who wants the deepest possible finish.
Prices are starting points. Vehicle size and paint condition set the final quote, which we confirm before any work begins. A 2-Step is a full day or more of work, typically 7 to 20 hours depending on the vehicle.

Correction works by removing a very small amount of clear coat, and your vehicle only has so much. That is why we aim to correct the paint once, do it properly, and then protect it, rather than polishing every year. If a scratch has gone through the clear coat we will tell you up front, and we can usually make it far less noticeable even if it will not disappear.
Our Paint Correction Process
- Wheels, tires, and fenders. Cleaned first so nothing splashes back onto corrected paint.
- Two-bucket hand wash. A careful wash that does not add new swirls to the ones we are about to remove.
- Bug and iron decontamination. Chemical decontamination pulls embedded iron and bonded contaminants out of the paint. We do not use clay bars; here is why.
- Glass cleaned and plastics taped. Trim, rubber, and edges are masked so the polisher only touches paint.
- Inspection under light. Every panel is checked with a paint-inspection light to map the defects and choose the right pad and polish for each area.
- Machine polishing. One stage for a 1-Step; a compounding stage followed by a finishing polish for a 2-Step.
- Residue removal and protection. Polish oils are wiped away, then your chosen protection goes on: a sealant, or a ceramic coating for years of protection.
- Tire dressing and final walk-around. We check every panel with you before we pack up.
We work at your home or office and need a power outlet and a water source within 100 feet of the vehicle. On bigger jobs we send progress photos along the way.
Correct First, Then Protect
Applying a coating over uncorrected paint seals the swirl marks underneath it for the life of the coating. That is why correction and protection go together: once the paint is corrected, a 2 Year ($250) or 5 Year ($450) Ceramic Coating keeps it that way, makes future washes safer, and means you should never need a full correction again if the car is washed properly.
Both correction packages include a layer of protection at the end. Ask about adding a ceramic coating to the same visit; it is the most common pairing we do.
